FP100 is a clear interior/exterior very high intumescent aqueous resin fire retardant coating formulated specifically for wood, manufactured wood products, wood assemblies including I-joists, OSB, plywood, lumber and timbers. It has the lowest flame spread possible and smoke index as low as 40. Tests at Intertek Laboratories based on ASTM E84/ ASTM E2768 30 minute Flame Spread 0, Smoke Development Index 40 Maximum Flame Front 8.4. It complies with the IBC and IRC and others. ASTM E84/ ASTM E2768 Standard Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials for Class A coatings requires Flame Spread of 0-25 and Smoke Index of < 450. FP100 flame spread is equal to cement board used to calculate ASTM E84 0 Factor. Fire Poly FP100 smoke index is less than 10% of the ASTM E84 Standard Note: Flame Spread time to end of tunnel (sec) was never reached, FS time area (ft/min) 0.0. Fire Poly FP100 coverage rate is 175 to 200 sq. ft.
APPLICATION: Treat before, during or after construction.
Be sure surface is clean and dry before treating.
Apply with spray, brush or roller.
May be necessary to wipe on hardwood surfaces
Treat all surface areas where possible
Do not expose treated substrates to moisture for 24 hours.

Flame Safe Fire Poly™ FP100 is a high intumescent fire retardant coating that expands when exposed to high heat or flame. It converts combustible gases and tars to non-combustible carbon char creating a thermal barrier, (similar to ASTM E119 Test Standard requirement) between the flame and the Fire Poly FP100 treated material. The carbon char, intumescence, is a poor conductor of heat, protecting the substrate from ignition or fire damage.
EXTERIOR / INTERIOR WOOD
All surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry. Fire Poly FP100 fire retardant coating is water-based, clear liquid that becomes insoluble when dry. On exterior wood Fire Poly FP100 can last up to five years, while maintaining a flame spread index of less than 25. In extreme weather conditions it may be necessary to re-coat surfaces every three to five years. On interior wood substrates Fire Poly FP100 is a permanent and effective fire retardant for the life of the structure provided it is not removed by extraordinary means or exposed to extreme moisture conditions. It also acts as a preservative, waterproofing agent, ultra violet inhibitor, mold and mildew inhibitor, and it repels insects. If over coating is intended, Fire Poly FP100 fire retardant coated wood substrates can be overcoated with latex paints, or can be used as a finished coat over water based stains. Finished surfaces will exhibit semi-gloss to gloss finish similar to lacquers or epoxies. Interior application,
